The Glacier Project
The Glacier Project is a visual exploration by Dutch artists Merel Klomp and Elmar Janse, co-founders of the creative studio Encrite. Capturing the ephemeral beauty and urgent reality of Europe's glaciers. Serving as a tribute to glaciers and a reminder of what we stand to lose, using aesthetics to inspire change.

In 2018, witnessing a massive slab of ice break loose from a glacier's edge, became the catalyst for The Glacier Project. Revealing the tension between the magnificence and fragility of these natural wonders.

Since then, they have traveled across Europe from France and Norway to Iceland. Capturing the many stages of the glacial process.
Their work reframes these phenomena through the lens of art and design, inviting viewers to pause, wonder, and feel.
