Elmar Janse (b. 1994) is a Dutch Director, Photographer, Filmmaker, and Explorer with a deep passion for creating.

Born and raised in the Netherlands, Elmar graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy (2018). With a background rooted in graphic design and branding, he developed a distinctive approach and an enduring fascination with the natural world. His work is defined by a clear visual language, where subjects are isolated, distractions are removed, and space is used deliberately to evoke calm and focus.

Driven by curiosity and a love for exploration, Elmar’s work spans the fields of adventure, travel, outdoor, and lifestyle. Whether capturing people, products, or architecture in unique landscapes, he aims to translate real experiences into honest, timeless visuals.

Together with Merel Klomp he co-founded Encrite. A creative studio with a drive to make meaningful stories stand out by powerful film & photography. Using aesthetics to inspire change.

Alongside commercial work they work on an artistic project: The Glacier Project.
A visual exploration capturing the ephemeral beauty and urgent reality of Europe's glaciers. Serving as a tribute to their magnificence while reminding us of their fragility.
A book is on the horizon.
